Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students I work with attend a Title One middle school. Each student has a unique personality and enjoy learning. I work with a large population of Hispanic students who are learning English and students with disabilities. All the students rise to any challenge given to them even if they lack the supplies to do so.

The students I work with are sponges who soak up all the knowledge given to them.

They are consistently questioning why and how. The English Language Learning students always speak to me in English because they want to improve and assimilate with their peers.

My Project

Teaching in person will require a lot of materials to maintain our safety. I want to provide a safe environment for all students. My goal is to ensure students do not have to worry about entering a classroom without any supplies. One new item I am adding this year is face masks. Not everyone can afford to have a disposable mask during these difficult times. I want to ensure my students can learn without worrying about reusing an old mask. Every day will require an intense cleaning of technology and other items used by the students. Having a disinfectant that is strong and smells good will help create a welcoming room. The goal is to teach students to take care of themselves and the area around them. Providing a computer mouse will help engage students in math programs on the computer.
