My Project

I have a large variety of students in my classroom. Several of my students have learning disabilities that would benefit from using colored overlays, flexible seating, and fidgets. I would like to add more flexible seating in my classroom and incorporate a variety of sensory items for my students to use.

My goal is to make my classroom a relaxing learning environment.

Centers are a weekly activity that my students love. I would love to try and include different seating and activities in them. As of now, I have 8 flexible seats that I use in two centers. I would like to have enough to cover all of my centers.

Stress balls, bubble and sand motion toys, and other fidgets are so helpful to students while working independently. During math class, I will see several with a stress ball in one hand and their pencil or expo working in the other. They have mastered multitasking!

Several of my centers are scoots. These are best on brightly colored paper and laminated to last longer. Students can easily see them around the room with the bright colors. I also have a teacher table center that I would like have clear pocket pouches for them to complete their work in.

Also implemented in my class, are exit tickets. A majority of the time I have students write on a post-it note for their ticket. These are easy to gather individually and for students to place in categories on the large flip-chart paper.

I feel that my class would benefit from all the supplies and enjoy using them in class. Learning loss has taken a big toll on the kids and a stress-free environment would mean so much to them!
