My Project

The sewing machine and items will be used to implement a project where students work in collaboration to create products through a design process and budget for their business that is supporting financial literacy. They will learn how to create designs and plan for products that support real world community needs. Christmas in a rural setting is perfect for crafts and items that can be used and inspiring to students for thinking about future careers or online businesses. Students will have the opportunity to create products that were started with simple ideas. These materials will inspire students to create their own crafts for the Christmas season that will be surveyed and marketed to staff and students for feedback.

They will learn how to use their math skills to measure and budget for products as well as their artistic and language skills to create marketing and logos for their products and advertisements they will present to their classmates.

It is a great opportunity for project based learning that provides positive feedback throughout the entire process!
