This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Creating an efficient and comfortable workspace is essential for student success, especially in hands-on, technology-driven courses like Broadcast, Yearbook, Geometry, and Credit Recovery. Currently, my students rely on 12” Chromebooks or older 18” monitors, which limits their ability to see the finer details in their work. Additionally, the classroom seating consists mostly of hard plastic chairs, making it difficult for students to stay comfortable and focused during long editing sessions.

With larger monitors and ergonomic chairs, students will be able to edit videos, design yearbook pages, and complete coursework with greater ease and efficiency.

These monitors will provide a much larger workspace, allowing students to keep multiple tabs open for editing photos, videos, and documents simultaneously—enhancing both their workflow and collaboration skills. The addition of taller, more comfortable chairs at our sit/stand desks will support better posture and flexibility, allowing students to choose between sitting or standing while they work.

By upgrading som of both the technology and seating in our classroom, students will not only be able to work more efficiently and comfortably but also develop essential career skills in using professional workstations, collaborating in teams, and managing projects effectively. These resources will benefit students for years to come, preparing them for high school, college, and beyond.
