My Students

We are a rural, high-poverty, Title I school, and we really enjoy seeing all of the ways that economics plays a role in our daily lives as teenagers. We joined our school's Economics Club to become more personally involved with the world of economics.

We truly want to participate in real-world examples of how economics is at work in our lives as teenagers, right here and right now!

The best way to understand economics is to participate in it first-hand, and that's exactly what we want to do.

My Project

These projects will make a difference because they will allow Economics Club students to create a school business where they advertise, market, and sell a product (candy) as budding entrepreneurs. Economics Club students will have to study, learn, and understand the market demand and the consumers as part of this project. We need M&Ms, Skittles, and Hershey chocolate bars.

Market, consumers, entrepreneurship, and economics, all in one lesson!

That's just the beginning! This project, and these materials, teaches students the ways in which economics can become part of our lives right now, and it allows students to improve their lives through the use of economic and entrepreneurial understanding.
