My Students

My students are energetic, creative and full of life. For most of them, kindergarten is their first experience in a school setting. They enter the classroom ready to learn, explore and discover.

I teach at a Title I school so many of my students come from low-income households.

They may not have all the resources that some students have, but they don't let that stop them! In my classroom, you will find tomorrow's brightest doctors, lawyers, teachers, engineers and whatever else they dream of becoming.

This year I have gotten to know my students via zoom. But we are about to get to be together in person. They are so excited to start kindergarten "for real" and be with their new friends.

My Project

My school started the year off via zoom. We just found out kindergarten will be going back to in person learning in two weeks. But what we are going back to is a completely different kindergarten. We won't be able to share materials anymore to keep students safe.

The craft boxes will allow students to have a math box with their own manipulatives so they can still have hands on learning.

The pencil pouches will be used for common reading center materials.

I also included some headphones in the project because we will be working from our iPads a lot. Making sure that every student has their own set of headphones will help cut down the noise and ensure that each child can hear their learning apps.

Finally, all of us will be required to wear a mask. If you have had difficulty hearing your total at the grocery store, you can imagine how difficult it will be for them to hear me as I am teaching. The voice amplifier will be a huge help in making sure everyone hears my instruction.
