Our students are curious, hardworking, and have demonstrated their perseverance during the last few very challenging years. They come from ethnically and economically diverse backgrounds and they all share a contagious enthusiasm. They are excited to learn every day!
Our school consists of students, nearly 91% designated as high needs, that speak different languages and represent many cultures.
They come to class ready to learn and engage with their teachers and classmates. They have demonstrated resilience and a commitment to close the academic gaps caused by the pandemic.
The crux of effective education relies on providing instruction in ways that are developmentally appropriate. By providing an easel, students can easily see the process of writing as we model on chart paper. They can follow along as we solve word problems as a group. They can see the shared book as we point and read aloud with the class. They can use magnetic letters as we practice our phonics skills. We can work as a classroom community to become better readers, writers and mathematicians!
