My Students

All of my students are English language learners - they are bilingual Urdu students in Kindergarten. They are eager learners, curious about the world around them and ready to challenge themselves. A few of my students have special needs.

My students come from immigrant backgrounds - all of them are Pakistani.

Their neighborhood is vibrant with Pakistani shops and restaurants. They let me know their favorite foods are biryani at home and pizza at school on Fridays. They are proud to speak in Urdu, yet confident to learn English.

My Project

During a lesson, students sometimes need to go back to the board on which I've modeled a lesson. Having an easel that could be easily moved around the classroom would help students have access to what's on the board in an efficient manner. The current easel I have is quite heavy and bulky, and cannot be moved around the classroom during lessons. When students are able to readily see the examples on the board, they can learn. This resource would be most helpful to my visual learners. Learning can take place in any part of the classroom and a transportable easel will help me do that.
