My classroom is a room filled with 20 exciting personalities who love to learn and participate throughout the day. Our room is FILLED with anchor charts and student work. Their love for learning excites me each and everyday. I would love to see them even more successful with the necessary tools to teach them everyday. Our school goal is to prepare our students to be proficient in reading by the end of third grade. I hope to inspire them each day by giving them the necessary materials.
My Project
I am asking for a new easel. The easel in my classroom now is an is falling apart and the supports are broken, so I can not store any items under it anymore. I love the easel I am asking for because it has room to hang the students' chart paper, is dry erase (my current easel is not), magnetic, and also has storage shelves on the back for my students' materials. I usually keep a variety of teaching tools in a crate under my easel (this includes the math manipulatives we use often, personal dry erase boards, materials for morning meeting, etc.), but this new easel has storage shelves built in, helping with organization and making access to frequently used learning tools easy! It will be a time saver and will make lesson transitions easy because the materials are right there and accessible. Also, the back of the easel doubles as a hanging rack for a pocket chart. We use a new literacy program called fundations, which has many components to it such as word cards and picture cards. I can hang the pocket chart right on the back of the easel and swivel the easel in order to access the needed materials for that portion of the day. Essentially, this one easel will help to ease transitions, hold materials, and make teaching and learning much more accessible!
