I teach a very energetic group of 2nd grade students. Currently, there are 24 students in our class. Our school is located in a very high need community. Over 75% of our students receive free lunches. We are always in need of resources and motivational tools.

Why an easel? Our teaching is based on doing many mini-lessons which is usually done in a particular center or on the rug. With a chalkboard only at the front of the room, the students strain to look up at the board especially when we are trying to provide a lesson from the opposite side of the room. In addition, the dust from the chalk causes an irritation to both the eyes and the throat of numerous children especially those that suffer from asthma.

So what is the solution? Well, a portable easel! The easel can be placed anywhere in the room. It will provide a dust free environment. We need an easel and four baskets to enhance our lessons. Thus, our students can focus on their work.

Your help will ensure that my students get a more enriching experience during mini-lessons and other activities. Your donation will make a great impact in our classroom.
