My Project

I have 20 special needs students who have a wide range of cognitive abilities. I have severe and profound students, to autistic students that are very high in the spectrum. I need activities and materials to enhance their learning at a variety of age ranges. My students range from 3 years to 5 years old, but cognitively they range from 6 months to 60 months.

During our hour-long center time, painting and writing on the easel is fun for the students and an important part of a preschooler's day.

I plan on using the easel during center time for both individual student instruction and small group instruction, but also as a station that students can visit to paint, write with chalk, and play with numbers and letters.

Puzzles and cause and effect toys will be added to the play area to assist with developing spatial recognition, sequencing, and fine motor skills.
