Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am requesting compost, recycling, and gardening materials to help my students connect with sustainable living habits. We will learn through project based learning important scientific concepts such as life cycles of living organisms, natural resources, and the human impact on the environment.

This outdoor classroom gardening and recycling project will help my students enhance their sense of responsibility, appreciation, and respect for the environment.

My students will survey, and collect food waste at lunch time, they will create a compost system for the food scraps that later will help fertilize the plants of our community garden.

Additionally, we will learn about positive personal and social environmental practices that are beneficial to the world, and teach the rest of the learning community at school.
