My Students

Curiosity is one of the main characteristics my students exhibit. While I may be teaching on one topic, my student's minds lead us to fifteen more. I have to work hard to keep up with all they want to learn. I work in a lower socioeconomic area of the United States, 66% of our students have free or reduced-price lunch, and that would lead many people to think that my students really wouldn't care about being on the leading edge of technology or even care about education. That couldn't be farther from the truth. My students long to achieve at every level and it is displayed in the manner in which they learn and approach life.

They are driven, dedicated young men and women who deserve a chance to use the latest technology to make education pertinent, fun and exciting.

They long for the hands-on experimental projects that make learning individualized. With your help, we can reach every student and make learning fun. This project will do all of those things and help my students to grow as individuals as well.

My Project

My students and I have a Brother PR670e embroidery machine. We need the Durkee EZ Frames and embroidery supplies to begin a small business. Our goal is to become self-sufficient financially.

We will be raising money to compete at Nationals in the Technology Student Association.

This means our students from our rural town will be competing against students from across the nation and more.

Not only will we compete, but we will have begun our business. Students will learn key life and work skills that no school can offer. Students will work in a collaborative setting with technology to earn the privilege of educational travel. Students will have to create and stitch designs, take orders and work with the public. Most of all this will teach work ethic and dependability.
