This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Early writers are those who have had minimal experience forming letters, strings of letters to make out words, or those who simply draw out their ideas. It is important to instill an interest in writing at an early age to allow for students to express themselves in this form. In this project, I am asking for pencils, an electric sharpener and mini composition notebooks.

As we prepare to begin the new school year, I am motivated to make writing for my kindergarteners as fun as possible.

The brand of pencils I am asking for is one of the best out there that makes writing easy and legible. The colors and styles they come in may encourage students to try them out by writing and using them for drawing and/or for different occasions. With all of these pencils, an electric pencil sharpener is vital in a classroom of multiple writers.

The junior composition notebooks will allow students to write in shorter pages than normal, which will make them feel like what they have written and stated is enough and not have to stare at blank lines that would otherwise have to be filled with fluff words. These smaller pages will make them feel accomplished and even increase attitude towards writing as they see that with time they are writing across 2-3 (small) pages!
