Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
Learning to read is an exceptional challenge. It's a challenge worth tackling for young readers with highly engaging books. The right books push students to keep working through the hard parts.
My first graders speak at least six different languages.
Their families, and often themselves, come from countries around the world. They adore being at school, working together, learning new things, and reading and being read to. Their excitement about everything is contagious.
My Project
These books, by Jan Thomas and Mo Willems, are ones that young readers will read again and again and again. The stories are hilarious, the illustrations are simple, but brilliant. The vocabulary and wording are accessible. These are the first books my students search for when we visit the library each week.
My students are willing to struggle and work hard to become readers.
They love books, both independently and when shared. These books will ensure that every student can find a copy of a book they want to read.
