Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are wonderfully curious and creative students. They range in age from four to five. These great little guys are a great representation of the various backgrounds that make our city great. Our class is made up of second language learners and students who need a little more structure, support and love.

Each morning our students come into school ready and eager to learn.

Pre-k is a time when learners practice socialization while learning through creative play. My students thrive on holding books, drawing, painting and writing.

They laugh, they play, they get to be children learning through play.

My Project

Obviously, this new time of Remote Learning has challenges for learners and teachers of all ages, but Pre-k children are hit even harder. Too young to understand what's going on, but old enough to need play and stimulation, our youngest learners are struggling day by day.

I hope to provide these vulnerable children a more positive experience, and their parents and family relief from the overwhelmingness of this all.

The items selected are based on the activities and materials the children truly found joy in while in the physical classroom. Items like kinetic sand, molding clay, magnetic tiles, and educational games they can use with their family. The children can use these materials for a variety of educational activities and/or imaginative play. Molding clay can be used to practice letters, numbers, or for creative play. It is also beneficial for the development of fine motor skills. Please donate what your can and share this with anyone who might want to help these sweet children in dire straights. This virus has taken a lot from us, let's try to give the little ones some of it back.
