EARBUDS FOR ALL

Help me give my students earbuds for using with our Chromebooks. Currently we are using bulky headphones that are shared and uncomfortable for some of the students.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Although, our students are from socio-economically challenged backgrounds, and all qualify to receive free lunches, they attend school regularly, eager to learn. They are highly curious 3rd graders with a variety of interests, mostly in the area of science and technology. They also enjoy collaborating with each other on projects for science, writing, and critical thinking.

Our students have developed and demonstrated a deeper understanding of kindness in their interaction with peers.

Early in the year we completed a kindness project, listening to a read aloud story, "Wonder," creating a wonder portrait, and keeping a kindness journal for 20 days. This was a great way to begin growing our classroom community.

My Project

Currently we are using bulky headphones that are uncomfortable for some students and also take up a lot of space. It takes extra time in class to go to the storage area and each student pick up their set of headphones. Then we take extra time to get the headphones put back in their storage area. These headphones are older and some have only one side of the headphone working.

Students will be able to keep their own earbuds in their desks for whenever they are using their Chromebooks to take tests, or listen to text that they are reading.

This will save time that we could be using to write or read. This is especially important for students who are not reading a grade level.
