My Students

As a teacher in a low income school, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking forward to providing them with an exciting and rich learnining environment. Our school is a Title I inner city school in New York City. Our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Some of them live in homeless shelters in other boroughs. They have to travel very far to maintain some stability in their lives. Some of them are also learning disabled with individual education plans. However they love learning and are working hard to change their narratives as well as the history of their community.

My Project

My students must keep up with the latest advancement in education to spark an interest in reading . Education is changing everyday and so are the interest of my students. Computers create high interest in learning especially with struggling learners. Adding these electronic devices to our learning environment will create a whole new buzz for learning. Computers are a multi functional tool that support all students learning styles . They also provide access to all subject areas. My visually empeard students will have easer access to more books. They will be able to easily adjust the size of the words in the Ebooks they are reading . They will also have access to high interest books. This project will help to enhance the everyday classroom experiences.
