My Students

As a child/teenager, was there something that you loved to do, but it seemed to go unnoticed by everyone around you? Eventually you "fell out of love" with it because it did not feel special or you felt like you were not really good at it? Help prevent this from happening to one of our young artists.

Many of our students lack confidence even though there is an abundance of talent within our school.

Students have not seen the importance of art within their daily life because there are no art galleries, art museums, advertising agencies, etc.. here in our little town. Our students need to be showcased. Their artwork needs to be in the spotlight. Our students need to feel that the talent they possess is important and unique. Most of the students that attend our school are on free or reduced lunch. Many share homes with other family members. Most of them do not have a "space" of their own. Students begin drinking alcohol, gambling, and abusing drugs at young ages because there is not much to do here. This is the type of life they see at home. Many of our students will never leave this town even though there are minimum opportunities here. The majority of them will never visit an art museum or art gallery unless it is on a school field trip.

My Project

Help us transform our dull, boring, drab cafeteria into the Eagle's Nest Cafe, where students feel confident to, "eat their heART out" in an inspiring, relaxing, creative environment. Your donation will allow us to use a variety of frames to showcase student artwork and exhibit it in our cafeteria. This will create a more inviting environment to eat breakfast and lunch in while boosting self-confidence in our art students, as well as, inspiring others to create. At the completion of this project we will officially open the Eagle's Nest Cafe inviting the media, parents, elected officials, and members of the community to come in and view our exhibit.
