My Students

Ready To Learn!! My students are highly motivated to learn and increase their skills. They find so much pride in being successful within their school day. With the materials I have requested, my students will be exposed to current events, biographies, community helpers and have their own math books!

My class is composed of 12 wonderful, diverse, and developmentally delayed students.

Our school uses different Internet based curriculum providers. However, my students do not have access to the same technology as the rest of the students in our building. Because our classroom is a vocational setting where the students learn job skills to bring into their future, we do not have space for a smart board or computers. Most of the materials my students use, we make ourselves. These materials would benefit my students learning experience by filling their minds with meaningful and useful information.

My Project

My students will use these materials in many useful and enriching ways. The biographies will be used to do research projects based on famous people in American history. The scholastic news subscriptions will help my students learn about important events and sports currently in the news. A large part of our day is focused on the community, learning about community helpers and jobs. My students would be highly motivated by the set of community helper books to choose different job paths they would like to explore. My students lack the appropriate resources for a functional math program. The workbooks I am requested would be paired with my current curriculum to aid my students master their goals of counting money and telling time. There are so many ways these materials can be used in partnership with my schools current curriculum to expose my students to a wealth of information.

This would make a difference in the lives of my students by enriching their learning experiences everyday.

They will have exposure to current events, famous Americans, community helpers, and increase in functional math skills with a set of brand new workbooks. Historically, I have had to hand make any workbook my students have used.
