My Students

Our classroom is very diversified and has students from all backgrounds with different learning styles. We have students with special needs, students whose primary language is not English, military background children, and students from low income families. Our school is a Title I school with over 70% of students receiving free or reduced- priced lunch. My students come into class everyday eager to learn something new.My students love to be able to get up and move to different stations in the classroom instead of sitting in a desk all day. We strive to make learning fun!

My Project

Students in the third grade in North Carolina are required to pass one of the reading tests in order to go on to the next grade. As a result, reading is a subject that we focus on heavily in the classroom. Our students do not all learn at the same speed so some of these activities will help me to differentiate our reading stations. These activities will give my students an alternative and fun way to learning reading comprehension skills.These activities and games will help my students learn to enjoy reading in another way. These are games that can be reused every school year so they will not only benefit the students of this year but of the follow school years as well. Please help our classroom grow to love reading more than they do now!
