My Project

We adopted a new reading curriculum 2 years ago. The new curriculum does not allow for each student to have a copy of their own book, and our district will not purchase additional books for each student to have their own copy. The students are to use text evidence in these books to write papers but have to share copies as they do this.

When each student has a copy of a book, they are more engaged!

I've been in education 24 years, so it's been disheartening to see students frequently look around the room because they don't have a copy of their own book to look through or follow along. When you fund this project, you will actually be supporting hundreds of students as these will be used year to year with our reading curriculum.

The topics of these three books are engaging, and I believe that there will be more collaboration between students when they each have their own copy of the book. They are learning some very difficult content and will greatly benefit from their own copy.

Mrs. Kinzenbaw will only receive her materials if this project is fully funded by November 15.
