Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I would love to provide my students with Kindle eReaders to enhance their reading experience in the classroom while offering them more choice and accessibility. These devices can truly engage and motivate even those who may be struggling. The Lunar New Year can inspire academic prosperity.

Kindle eReaders are designed to make reading comfortable and easy.

Their user-friendly format allows students to navigate effortlessly, which significantly boosts their motivation to read. Additionally, these eReaders are accessible for all students, including those with visual impairments or other disabilities. They can adjust font sizes, modify brightness, take notes, and highlight text, personalizing their reading experience. The text-to-speech feature also enables students to listen and read simultaneously, which helps them better understand the material. Audiobooks can further support focus and enhance comprehension.

Providing choices regarding how students read is essential to keeping them engaged and excited. This project aims to empower students by allowing them to control their reading experiences. The text-to-speech feature not only supports comprehension but also models fluent reading and correct pronunciation.

The first eBooks we acquire will focus on different cultures, particularly the Lunar New Year.

By introducing Kindle eReaders into our classroom, we can positively impact all students, especially those who may need extra support. This initiative will help improve their academic success, particularly for students with individualized education plans (IEPs) and those from low-income families. Let’s work together to make reading enjoyable and accessible for everyone!
