My Students

Jacqueline Kennedy once said, "There are many little ways to enlarge your child's world. Love of books is the best of all." I want to give my students an opportunity to LOVE reading and writing, so that I can enlarge their world.

My students are a part of a smaller community and attend a Title 1 elementary school in Tennessee.

Several students are from single parent families or live with their grandparents. My students don't have access to the wonderful world of e-books or ample opportunities to read e-books at home. With a subscription to Big Universe, I can brighten their world, and engage them in reading like never before!

My Project

Big Universe is an award-winning balanced literacy platform, providing K-8 students and teachers, curriculum resources across subject areas. Their revolutionary website provides thousands of informational and literary digital texts from the best book publishers, Online self-publishing, a global bookshelf sharing community, and robust management tools for educators. Some of the many features include: * Ready-Made Personal eLibrary * THOUSANDS of stunning nonfiction and fiction books for all subjects in PK-8 * Common Core Standards Alignment * Creative Writing & Publishing * Engaging Online writing * Motivational publishing tools * Create custom books for any curriculum * Enhance creativity in writing through publishing, writing and open-ended assessments. Using Big Universe will help me enhance their reading and writing skills. There's no better way to engage my students in learning than with the latest and greatest e-books and online writing fun!

With Big Universe, I will be able to spark excitement in my students about learning, expand my school/classroom library, differentiate instruction, support standards, and make reading and writing across the curriculum easy and much more FUN!
