Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in a large public school in the Los Angeles Unified School District. My school is a Title I school where 91% of students qualify for free breakfast and lunch. The majority of our school population are Latinx and many are acquiring the English language.

My kindergarten classroom is filled with 24 highly energetic 5 and 6 year olds.

Everyday my students come to school excited to learn something new. They love exploring the world through discussion and are eager to share their knowledge and experiences with one another.

Many of my students come from homes which may be lacking in funds to provide early educational experiences in literacy and mathematics. Often parents are working long hours and have little time to engage in learning activities. During the school day I hope to fill in that gap by making schooling as interactive and engaging as I can!

My Project

My students are active learners who need dynamic online instruction! The purchase of a new Dell Inspiron laptop will enable me to fully engage my kindergarteners during this time of remote learning.

Interactive lessons, live demonstrations, and virtual field trips are just some of the ways that I can reach my littlest learners this school year.

Toggling between various programs and presenting material it is essential that a laptop be both dependable and swift. This is why it is such an important part of my instruction.

I know that with this donation I will be able to put my best foot forward this school year!
