My Project

I work with sixth graders, who are in a harder transition out from elementary settings to more middle school settings. I strive to make learning fun, while still actually learning! I did this project last year with students, and it was incredibly fun!

When the learning is fun and engaging, it sticks more with kids!

This project teaches students about chemical reactions, but it also gives students an artifact to wear for the remainder of the year. We wore the shirts for some spirit days (twinning/ tie dye), field trips, and field day at our school. I didn’t realize the impact on more participation and class community until I completed it last year, and I’d love to complete it again!
