Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember how it felt when you had the desire to read but couldn't? We teach ESE students with specific learning disabilities. Reading is the primary focus in our learning program. Our students will be able to go on myon.com and have a story read to them, regardless of their reading level.

We work at a Title 1 school with underprivileged students.

Seventy-six percent of our students receive free and reduced lunch. Our student's families have many economic and academic challenges. We want to ensure that we are providing our students with the correct resources and doing all we can to propel them towards academic success.

My Project

Most of our students do not have the opportunity to be exposed to various experiences. Through many technological advancements, students now have the resources to experience and learn about things they would never get to see or hear about. By using headphones on a computer, students can increase their reading comprehension skill, fluency, and overall knowledge. Student can listen to a story, an interview or any other orally based lesson, which will catapult them towards academic success.

Our students appreciate new experiences and learn from technology.

Those students who don't have the opportunity to learn at home, can come to school and experience an entire new world. Using headphones will allow students to not only listen and learn new information, but also experience new adventures.
