Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a Spanish dual language classroom in central Los Angeles. The start of this year will mark the first time most of my students will enter a classroom. As such, I want to create a welcoming environment in which they feel represented. All of my students identify as either Latinx or Hispanic and they live to play and explore.

My Project

Books will be showcased to encourage students to read and learn. My goal is that my students see themselves on every page in our classroom. I want all my students to start reading and to love it, and it all starts by picking up that first book.

I want each student to feel inspired after they finish reading our new books in our classroom library.

To pick up their crayons and express their own stories to the world. I want them to dream and know that all things are possible.
