My Students

Our classroom is an Integrated Co-Teaching classroom that is constantly filled with activity.

We have students with a broad range of abilities.

We have ESL students as well as students with special needs. Some students have physical needs such as hearing impairment and joint deformities. We also have children with learning disabilities and processing disorders. But most of all, we have children who love to learn!

My Project

Due to the broad ranges of abilities in our classroom, we have many different group activities occurring simultaneously. One teacher works with an ESL group, I work with students with Special Needs and the General Education teacher works with other groups. A whiteboard in the back of the classroom will make it easier to present the various lessons to the small groups.

Currently, small group leaders use small wipe off boards to try to present the lessons.

There is little room for writing and it is not possible to hang charts and other visual aids on such a small board. Getting a whiteboard easel in the classroom will give the visual reinforcement of math and literacy activities that so many of our students with special needs require to succeed.
