Help Ms. Krause

I teach Spanish I and II at a high-need school in Urban Missouri. I teach 175 students that are required to take a foreign language in order to graduate. My school is focused on sending all students to college.

In foreign language it is hard to measure and check for understandings because everyone needs to be 100% on board in order to move on to the next concept. Whiteboards have revolutionized my teaching and my students love using them. They give me an idea if all of my students are understanding and it keeps them very engaged in the lesson. However dry erase markers go very quickly with so many students and we have already gone through about 30 markers.

By receiving dry erase markers, my students will continue to practice their foreign language skills. They love getting the correct answer and they feel proud of themselves for accomplishing such a difficult task. My students will be able to take these skills to college and go to a four year university with confidence that they know Spanish.

Sometimes foreign language classes get overlooked as not being as important as the core classes but it is so important to make our students more worldly citizens. My goal is to have 175 students walking out of high school and entering college speaking a second language. These markers will help me reach that goal. These students and I need your help to make this happen.
