This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have the privilege of teaching physical education to students in grades Pre-kindergarten to 2nd grade at a Title I school in the Bronx. My students love to engage in physical activity and enjoy learning new skills in my physical education class.

This equipment will help improve the rhythm and dance unit while improving students’ fitness through cardio drumming.

Cardio drumming is an innovative and engaging fitness program that combines cardiovascular exercise with the art of drumming, providing an exciting way for students to improve their physical fitness, coordination, and rhythm.

The rhythmic beats generated during cardio drumming make it a fun and interactive way for students to stay active and healthy while learning about fitness. The equipment requested will allow students to combine rhythmic drumming with cardiovascular workouts. The exercise balls will be used as “drums” and the pool noodles will be utilized to create “drumsticks”. The tape will be used to attach noodles end to end to create bases for the exercise balls.
