Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My music students range in age from Pre-K to Upper EIementary.

I teach music to children who are on the autism spectrum in New York.

I have the pleasure of working with all of the students in the early childhood department of our school during music class. My students are enthusiastic learners and love participating in all kinds of musical learning activities. They enjoy dancing, singing, reading song books, and playing musical instruments. They really look forward to coming to music class!

My Project

These materials will make a difference for my students because it will give them new hands-on materials to use when exploring drumming and rhythm.

My students are developing a bucket drum ensemble to perform for our school community, and these drums will help them when practicing and getting ready to perform.

The balls on these drums will provide them with a fun and unique playing experience, while also improving their gross motor skills.

I know my students will really enjoy working with these new drums and it will be a great performance piece. They are highly motivating because they are lots of fun to play!
