Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My students are drooling for a dictionary of their very own! I am an 8th grade Language Arts/Reading teacher at a low income public middle school.

One of the biggest challenges my students face is the lack of at home resources. My students constantly ask to borrow dictionaries from the classroom in order to complete vocabulary/reading/grammar and writing projects. I encourage students to look up unfamiliar words that they come across in their everyday lives.

I would love to be able to supply each and every one of my students a dictionary of their very own to keep and use at home. I feel that a child should have access to basic materials. A dictionary is one said "basic" material that they are longing to possess.

With your help, it will be possible to supply students with a dictionary for them to expand not only their vocabularies but also their minds.
