This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our soccer program plays a crucial role in the growth and development of our students, both on and off the field. The equipment we are requesting—soccer dummies, soccer balls, shorts, and book bags—will directly enhance their training and academic success. Soccer dummies will allow us to run more focused drills, improving players' tactical skills and teamwork. The soccer balls will ensure that our players have the proper equipment to practice consistently and build their technical abilities. The shorts will keep our players comfortable during intense training sessions, while the book bags will help them stay organized and manage their academic responsibilities.

Currently, we have to find an empty spot at the park to practice, and when weather or space limitations prevent us from being outside, we train in the school gym.

While we make do with what we have, having access to the right equipment will make a significant difference in the quality of our training and the overall development of our players.

The goal of this project is to provide our athletes with the necessary tools to excel on the field and in the classroom. We want to improve our team's performance, strengthen individual skills, and foster teamwork, while also supporting our students in staying organized and focused on their academic goals.

Our students in Back of the Yards are dedicated, resilient, and hardworking. Despite the challenges they face—whether it’s balancing school and sports or training in less-than-ideal conditions—they continuously show leadership and a passion for soccer. This project will give them the resources they need to succeed and grow, both as athletes and as students, and help them overcome obstacles to achieve their full potential.
