This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

At our urban charter school in DC, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to focus on their education without the worry of basic necessities. We are seeking donations for new clothing to ensure that each of our PreK-5th grade students has equitable access to clean and suitable attire.

Providing supplementary clothing will allow our students to remain in the classroom, minimizing interruptions caused by accidents or a lack of appropriate clothing.

By addressing these basic needs, we can help our students concentrate on their studies and participate fully in their educational experience.

Our goal is to create a welcoming and supportive environment where no child feels ashamed or distracted due to clothing issues. We aim to have a supply of fresh clothing available for any student in need, ensuring that all our kids can focus on learning, growing, and thriving.

Our students are bright, brilliant, funny, and unique. They bring a diverse array of talents and perspectives to our school community. By supporting this project, you are helping to foster a nurturing environment where each child can shine and reach their full potential without the fear of bullying or embarrassment.
