Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is a smaller school for our area filled with great kids that are willing and ready to learn! My students are from various backgrounds and they each bring unique qualities to our classroom! Everyone is different, but they work together extremely well and enjoy collaborating on group projects and activities. They are full of energy and love to move around and do active things like play sports or dance. They are constantly smiling and always chatting with each other!

Our students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with over 60% of our students receiving free and lunch.

There is a multitude of teams and clubs that fit the needs of everyone. Our football team lost the opportunity to fundraise due to COVID-19. In order to assist the parents and players, we are designing this project to lessen the financial cost.

My Project

These items will continue to enhance the football team's pride in the culture that we strive to create. These items are apart of our game-day uniforms and allow us to be properly dressed during 7 on 7 competition and full contact exhibition. Football is a place where my students really enjoy being and creates a place of belonging. They compete, work hard, and they work well together! Every student-athlete is treated with love and care, and they are thankful for the opportunities to play the game that we all love. I have been with their players for up to three years and I have watched them grow. The past few months have taken a toll in more ways than one. I have also asked them about their financial situation and their mental state of mind during all of this. Students will be able to look forward to looking the part without worrying about the money and enjoy this season.
