My Students

We are a holistic community of inquisitive risk-takers, fearless advocates and progressive innovators actively seeking to grow "stronger and taller" each and every day with renewed optimism for the achievements to come and the challenges of being educated for college, a career and beyond...

We are a diverse classroom of students looking to "grow stronger and taller every day in a peaceful way." As learners in the 21st century, we value interdisciplinary learning as a community of “lead-learners.” We recognize the power of consuming knowledge to the benefit of personal and professional goals, as well as the achievements to come.

This means discovering, recognizing, celebrating and connecting our learning differences to make our classroom and the larger community a better place by leveraging the digital world.

Through technology, we will accelerate learning and change the future. This access to technology is particularly important as the larger school community moves toward one-to-one digital technology as part of a five-year plan, a defined "maker-space," and as the Middle School integrates a customizable digital curriculum to support differentiated learning in Grades 6-8. Our 5th graders must be prepared to accelerate through Middle Grades to the best high schools.

My Project

Everything you can imagine is real." ~Pablo Picasso.

Teaching and learning should inspire dreams.

Dreams drive innovation. Innovation ALIVE leads to focused, positive risk-taking, committed advocacy and both continuous self-improvement and an improvement of the larger community. Chromebooks in the classroom will support teaching, leading and learning by providing immediate access to adaptive and differentiated learning opportunities for the purposes of (1) intervention (remediation) so all students can meet on-grade level expectations for all content areas and (2) extension for ALL students so their goals and dreams can come ALIVE. Technology in the classroom will create synergy with other school-wide shifts in technology adoption such as a new "makerspace" and the new digital curriculum in Middle Grades. Additionally, purposeful and sustainable after-school activities can be planned and executed to support students, siblings and additional stakeholders.

On-demand access to the digital world with Chromebooks is the linchpin to accelerating teaching, leading and learning for our 5th grade classroom. This technology creates a "springboard" to students’ future reality in Middle Grades and our lives in the 21st century.
