My Project

This is my second year teaching 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students with learning disabilities and autism. Last year I found out that they really enjoy reading graphic novels! These books got them exciting about reading so I asked them what other titles they might like for this year. I also wanted to get some titles for my girls.

The children were excited to visit our little classroom library - but they were sitting on a torn bench and the cold, tile floor.

I knew I had to find a way to get them a rug so they wouldn't have to sit on the floor anymore. My school has a couple of rugs but they're very old and worn out, with waves from being rolled and stored.

I want to give my students a beautiful, functional library space. They need to be able to sit on a nice rug and get comfy. I want to give them more graphic novel choices - including my girls, who don't have much to choose from. With your help, I can provide a warm, inviting space with new books that they'll be begging to visit each day!
