My Students

My students are creative, caring, and eager to learn. Although my students come from different backgrounds, many of them face struggles stemming from institutional racism and poverty. The art room is a place for them to freely explore materials and ideas, express their autonomy, and have fun!

My Project

This material request might seem disjointed, but all of these materials will help to create a choice art room for all kindergarten through fifth grade students. Student artists will use the clipboards for outdoor drawing, as well as allow students to move around the classroom as they draw. The restaurant speed rack is going to be converted into a choice painting station for student artists and the sixteen crayon boxes will help organize construction paper crayons, regular crayons, and white crayons.

All kindergarten through fifth grade students will benefit from these materials as we make the transition to a more choice based art room.
