Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My class is comprised of five boys and five girls. They have been classmates for two years and have developed relationships that reflect empathy, respect, gratitude, honesty and cooperation. My students hail from social economic disadvantage. Despite their humble beginnings they are smart and resilient.

They are creative and eager to learn.

The pots, dishes and grocery set will allow the students to create imaginative scenarios around cooking and cultural recipes.

The doctor, construction worker and vet sets will support the imaginations of perhaps future workers in the field of medicine and architecture.
