My Students

Our school serves students in grades K-8 and provides rigorous academics, fantastic teachers and a safe learning environment. Our goal is to prepare our students for success in high school and college. Our school has a very diverse population with 100% receiving free breakfast and lunch in a total population of about 400 students.

We are an African Immersion school that focuses on the life and accomplishments of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

My students are so lovable and deserve the best learning opportunities I can give them.

My Project

Our dramatic play center needs a makeover. In this center, the children have the opportunity to use their imagination and practice their socialization skills. It is very important for the dramatic play center to have different materials so that we can change out the center materials and change it into different things such as a supermarket, house, and a vet when we change the classroom themes. Connecting the centers to the themes helps the children role play and extend and the apply the learning that we are doing throughout the day. These experiences help the children connect our learning to the world around them.

The dramatic play center is one of our most popular centers and we need to keep it with different materials that are going to keep the children entertained and engaged.

These materials will help our dramatic play center come to life. It gives the children the opportunity to role play. It helps them take leadership and it helps them with their problem solving skills. The baby dolls can help the children practice how to take care of babies and how to be moms, dads and brothers and sisters. The Vet materials and puppy will help the students learn how to take care of animals. The mailbox and pretend mail will provided the opportunity for my students to be mail carriers and play post office. The pretend appliances will help my students to explore how different appliances are used in the kitchen.

All of these dramatic play materials will help enhance our favorite center and give everyone new learning experiences.
