Help Mr. Kohn

I teach high school drama and art. Our budget is exactly zero dollars, but we want our plays to shine, so we need your help!

Our auditorium is outdated and very lacking in basic amenities. What few lights we have on our stage are straight overhead, with none in front. We do a lot of shows at our school each year, from plays to awards programs to choir performances and of course class night and graduation. Our stage looks really bad and I want to have upgraded modern lighting for our students to enjoy.

We need some lights for the front of our stage to light up our actors, or presenters, or choir, and anyone else. I have chosen LED lights because they're bright and each light can change color, so we can do washes of white light or a colorful light show depending on what the program calls for. Also, we need a real spotlight for the back of our auditorium to highlight our performers. We have so much talent, and I want them to really SHINE!

I have had so many wonderful projects funded here at DonorsChoose, and my students have been very fortunate to have people like you who care about them. High school theater is just one of the many ways to expose our young people to culture, and it allows them to show off their talent and build self-esteem. Many of my students have aspirations to be performers and study theater or dance in college. Just the simple addition of lights to our stage will boost their enthusiasm and help them to do their best as they prepare for the world beyond high school.
