My Students

The challenge that faces my students is that they are lacking materials in the dramatic play are. Students that do not excel in academic areas can excel in the dramatic area. I want to make sure they have enough materials to shine in this area.

My students are general and special education students who attend a New York City public school in Brooklyn, NY.

Some of my students are struggling with adaptive skills and need to practice social skills. My students also enjoy role play and love to participate in shows at the school. My students need more materials to enhance their experience in the dramatic play area. This will allow them to have more exposure to what is necessary for life skills.

My Project

The materials that were requested for my students will allow the students to practice their adaptive daily living skills. The students will also be able to practice using their socialization skills to interact with other students with these additional materials in the dramatic play area. My project includes materials such as blenders, food and furniture they can find at home. There are foods that they can cut up and act like little chefs.

My project will give my students the opportunity to shine in the area of dramatic play.

It will give them a chance to practice their listening and speaking skills when interacting with one another. This project is tapping into the multiple intelligences that students have. While one student may have intelligence and excel in math, another student may be great in performing. I want to help my students excel in performing arts, also.
