My Project

I will be starting my 11th year of teaching this fall, I can't believe that much time has gone by. However, if you looked at some of the things in my classroom, you could probably tell. When I became a teacher, my mom and I went to garage sales and resale shops to collect a lot of the things I needed to start a classroom. Although those things have served me well over the years, several of the things in my classroom are starting to wear down and need to be replaced.

Next year, I will be moving to a new classroom and I will need to update old and worn out things to make my classroom cozy and welcoming for my new students.

We really need two area rugs, one for the rug by the smartboard and the other in our classroom library. Our classroom door is a heavy wood door and often times, it is hard for students to knock on, so we need a doorbell to make coming and going more convenient. My teacher computer is far away from my Smartboard so I need a standing desk and keyboard to teach from and be able to move around the room freely to teach. We also need some magnetic bookshelves to put on the board to display the books we are reading each month.

All of these things will make our classroom more functional, safer, and more welcoming for years to come!
