This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Foundational skills in mathematics requires understanding and practicing patterns in various ways. Combining double dutch jumping with singing mathematical patterns will give students plenty of opportunities to practice number patterns while getting in some physical excersize.

This opportuntity to practice mathematical foundational skills through double dutch jumping will strengthen students automaticity with numbers.

Counting by 2, 5, 10 will get them started, but creating increasing and decreasing number patterns, skip counting more difficult number patterns, and creating unique number patterns will happen with great enthusiasm utilizing the double dutch jumpropes.
