My Project
Imagine being a third grader with the stress of taking a standardized state test for the very first time. This project requests materials to help my students relax and do their very best work.
Test anxiety peaks in grades 2-4, but it sticks around for years!!
35% of all students have moderate, high, or severe test anxiety. Brain breaks and motivational reinforcement are proven to help combat test anxiety. During previous testing, my students loved getting messages matched with candy. Examples are "You are a star bursting with knowledge!" paired with Starburst or "You are such a Smartie" paired with Smarties lollipops. My favorite is sending home microwave popcorn the night before with the saying "Do not worry...the answers will pop in your head". Even the smallest gestures can make a huge difference!
