My Project

As an educator working with teens with disabilities, I see firsthand the unique challenges my students face daily. Many of my students are low learners and require a supportive environment to help them regulate their emotions, focus on tasks, and engage meaningfully with their education. Sensory tools have proven to be transformative in helping students feel calm, safe, and ready to learn.

Sensory boxes are curated collections of items designed to meet the sensory needs of students.

They may include items like games, stress balls, fidget toys, textured fabrics, weighted objects, and calming visual tools such as glitter jars. These items help students regulate their sensory input, reduce anxiety, and improve focus. For my students, sensory tools are not just helpful—they are essential. They allow students to better manage overwhelming emotions, stay engaged in the classroom, and build skills for independent regulation.
