Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our goal is to give our students the opportunity to learn about financial literacy through designing and creating items for their classrooms, and school by using a Cricut. By getting this funded, not only will they be able to create designs for the school, but they will get the chance to sell these items for fundraising. This will be used for classrooms and fundraising, but it will also be used to help create new sports uniform designs, and posters and signs for social nights such as literacy night and fall festival. The selling of items will be student ran (with adult supervision) in an effort to teach them how to handle money and the beginnings of financial literacy. All profits from making and selling items will go directly back into our student account in the building. This account is used to provide supplies, help fund field trips and provide rewards for all of our students throughout the year.

By teaching out kids about financial literacy, we are setting them up for a much brighter future.

When children are given the opportunity to play a vital role in decision making and creativity, they get a sense of belonging not only in the classroom, but in the community.
