If you're looking to meet a massive group of vibrantly inquisitive third, fourth, and fifth-grade adventurers, then you have found the right place! We are a little too loud at times, but you can never be too passionate about learning. Our favorite moments are when we are fully immersed in hands-on exploratory lessons and solving new challenges. The students served in this program are identified as gifted. Please consider gifting them with enriching and robust experiences that will challenge their advanced needs.
The support from donors for our classes is more than just support; it creates a connection from the community to the eager student.
When students know that their excitement is being matched by caring strangers who believe in their abilities, the excitement grows into a deep yearning for more, which sets them on the path as life-long learners. We are ready to be forever scholars, and we are ready for you to join us along this journey.
My Project
In this exciting project-based learning experience, students will expand upon their creative storytelling like never before by incorporating visual components like LEGO.
First, students will explore the use of stop motion animation in storytelling while examining options for media such as puppetry and claymation.
Next, students will develop their own stories to tell, complete with complex character design, settings that double as backdrops, and plots with unexpected twists and turns. Then, students storyboard their ideas and develop which elements in each scene will change to create movement. In this stage, each student will receive their own flipbook to help them practice planning out the intricate details of breaking down objects for animation. After, students will create their stories using Lego and any other media they studied during our research.
Finally, students will put all their hard work together using stop motion animation software, editing techniques, and voice. Showcasing these movies will be so much fun that we better bring on the popcorn too!
