Help me give my students an exciting journey into entomology through hands-on experiences. Students will design a ladybug habitat and nurture a butterfly garden. They will use engineering by constructing robotic wall-crawling bugs and experimenting with solar-powered insects.

My Project

The "Don’t Bug Me" project aims to engage scholars by bugging them with various STEAM activities. The goal is to deepen the scholars understanding of the critical role bugs/insects play in our environment. With the items selected, the scholars will utilize them to understand the diversity of bugs and how to attract beneficial bugs to the garden through plant selection and habit creation. In addition, the scholars will explore the life cycle of common insects and even engineer their own bugs. Lessons on food webs, decomposition, and pest control will be performed while the scholars gather evidence on the benefits of bugs/insects for plant health and biodiversity. The scholars will even build robotic bugs and discover how bugs defies gravity.
